The effects of dementia are devastating to experience and upsetting to witness in loved ones. People with advanced dementia often become extremely confused as the brain shuts down and they find it more and more difficult to communicate and interact with others. It is estimated that 80% of residents in care homes have some form of dementia or severe memory problems, and with a progressively ageing population, the total number is only going to increase. By the end of the course, you will have discovered the causes and symptoms of different types of dementia; how to recognise and manage symptoms; and, perhaps most importantly, how you can contribute towards achieving quality end of life care for your dementia patients. Developing dementia awareness will effect the impact you have on patients and their families.
Who is this course for?
Health and social care professionals, and support and care workers from all settings who have direct contact with patients, clients and residents experiencing dementia.
The full cost will be charged for cancellations with less than one week’s notice.
Please keep in mind that if you can not attend the session you booked you can re-book your place, without being charged, for the next available session by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
